“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening—a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation. I have little doubt that as individuals, families, communities, and even nations, we have the capacity to learn how to heal and prevent much of the damage done by trauma. In so doing, we will significantly increase our ability to achieve both our individual and collective dreams.”
― Peter A. Levine, Healing Trauma: A Pioneering Program for Restoring the Wisdom of Your Body

Trauma:
The essence of all healing is integration and connection. Traumatized minds and nervous systems behave traumatically. Once there is awareness of the subconscious belief systems, there is an ability to consciously choose a more preferred behavior and an effective experience within the wholeness of life. Together, we safely discover and integrate the pieces of you to realize them as the PEACES of You. What at first appeared as a nightmare transmutes into pure awareness, wellbeing, and wisdom. When trauma patterns are replaced by patterns of wellbeing and wholeness there is a ripple effect that improves your quality of life in ways we may have never even imagined before.

Addiction:
The addiction or habit is the solution to the problem not the problem itself. The habit can be a positive or negative solution but is always an unconscious attempt to cope with the core issue. By bringing into awareness the core issue and belief structures surrounding it we can find a better solution for relief. We don't ask about why there is an addiction but instead ask where is the root of the pain. We bring this suffering to a resolution or at the very least an ability to let go of any maladaptive behaviors, to replace them with more effective and preferred behaviors, for a fulfilling and rewarding life.  We bring understanding and compassion to replace guilt and shame as we begin to understand that all behaviors began as a way to adapt to and survive within traumatic experiences; which can be present externally and/or internally.
"As long as one is escaping from loneliness (suffering), there is no essential difference between worship of God and addiction to alcohol"
- Jiddu Krishnamurti

Distress Tolerance and Emotional Regulation:
The first step in practicing peace is understanding the nature of our nervous system, as our behavior is a result of up to %80 of information that our brain receives comes first from our nervous system. Applying mindful awareness we show up for our emotions and thought patterns in a new way. This increases our capacity to regulate our nervous system and have greater access to wise decision making. Groundbreaking research now shows that our nervous systems interact with each other and that just by being in the presence of a regulated nervous system when ours is dis-regulated, it increases our capacity to regulate our own through experiential learning. This illuminates the importance of connecting and working with wise others in the process of discovering our own ability to regulate our emotions and practice peace.

Grief and Loss:
Grief is a transition. It is a realization that life will never be the same as it once was.
"Grief is the realization of the loss of a dream. You build a model of reality in your mind and when that is torn away...it takes away your security so there is fear but also there is an incredible feeling of loss, of sadness, of feeling incomplete because you built the sense of your completeness around living within your dreams. And when the dream collapses it's as if your whole identity has died. " - Ram Dass

Relationship Integration and Honoring our Relationship with Self:
Every relationship begins with an attempt to feel safe and connected. Every relationship ends as a result of feeling more fear and disconnect than of safety and connection. When we learn how to create a nurturing and benevolent relationship within our own mind, body, spirit the relationship with all else shifts to reflect this inner change. By no longer putting our energy and focus into blaming what appears outside of ourselves and by beginning to take accountability for our own emotions, stories, and belief structures, we suddenly let go of what is out of our control and shift into what is in our control.  All experience with what appears as "other" becomes a window into what supports and challenges our ability to experience oneness and love.

Healing Brainwave and Nervous System States:
Whether the focus is on trauma recovery, grief and loss resolution , addiction recovery, emotional regulation and distress tolerance or healthy relationship skills the ability to intentionally shift into alpha, beta, and theta brainwave states is in invaluable tool. Trauma is the inability to be fully present with reality just the way it is. By going beyond the story and beneath the emotions, essentially returning to the root, we come home to the wholeness, the goodness, and the vitality of being able to be fully present. When in these brainwave states, that are naturally occurring, you naturally become more open to integrating new belief structures. It is incredibly helpful with minimizing mental, emotional, spiritual and physical pain and suffering, as we advocate for the integration of all the PEACES of YOU, while in a deeply relaxed state of being. This impacts the body on a cellular level that research shows promotes cellular regeneration, an improvement to your immune system, and overall health. You experience peace and wholeness as comfort and compassion, safety and stability, in a deeply relaxed state, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually while being in process. The outcomes are truly magical!
